In a tragic turn of events, a 41-year-old software engineer lost his life after being bitten by a snake that had taken refuge in his Crocs. The victim, named Manju Prakash, was an employee at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and lived in Ranganatha Layout, close to Bannerghatta.
What Happened?
On his way back: On Saturday afternoon, Prakash ran out for a quick errand to grab some sugarcane juice and left his Crocs outside before heading into his room.
The unnoticed bite: Little did he know, a venomous snake had curled up inside one of the slippers. Prakash, who had lost feeling in his leg due to an accident in 2016, likely didn’t notice the bite at all.
The discovery: About an hour later, a family worker found a dead snake next to the Crocs. When they checked on Prakash, he was unresponsive, with foam around his mouth and a bleeding leg. Despite being taken to a private hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.
The snake's fate: It seems the snake might have suffocated while trapped in the footwear.
