Fidelity Bank Plc has officially attained Tier-One status in Nigeria, marking a significant milestone in its journey to becoming one of the country's top three banks. This achievement was confirmed during the bank's 37th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held virtually on April 29, 2025, where shareholders lauded the institution's exceptional performance. Notably, Fidelity Bank has become one of the top three dividend-paying financial institutions in Nigeria.
Impressive Financial Performance
In the 2024 fiscal year, Fidelity Bank reported a remarkable 210% increase in Profit Before Tax (PBT), reaching ₦385.2 billion. Gross earnings surged by 87.7% to ₦1,043.4 billion, driven by a 106.9% growth in interest and similar income to ₦950.6 billion. Deposits grew by 47.9% from ₦4.0 trillion in 2023 to ₦5.9 trillion, while advances increased from ₦3.1 trillion to ₦4.4 trillion during the same period.
Strategic Initiatives and Digital Transformation
Fidelity Bank's ascent to Tier-One status is attributed to its strategic initiatives, including a seven-point agenda focusing on innovation, workforce transformation, digital transformation, brand refresh, service excellence, performance discipline, and accelerated growth. The bank has invested significantly in digital banking, with 92% of customer-induced transactions now conducted through its digital platforms.
